Caring & Compassionate Pet Euthanasia, Cave Creek

Older cat on blanket

Pet euthanasia is often the act of humanely ending an animal's life to relieve suffering. Although most of us don't like to think about the end of our pet's life, a veterinarian can help us ensure that our pets leave this world in a kind way. We at Desert Forest Animal Hospital in Cave Creek, AZ, offer pet euthanasia.

When Is It Time to Say Goodbye?

There is no easy answer to this question. Each pet and each situation is unique. As our pets age, they may develop illnesses or injuries that require expensive and invasive treatment. You may be faced with the decision to euthanize your pet when the quality of its life is declining. Some pets have good and bad days, and it can be difficult to make this decision.

Are you uncertain about what your pet needs? We can help assess your pet's health to determine what kind of decision is right for your pet. You may want to consider some treatments for your pet before you choose euthanasia, but you may have exhausted all your options.

Some signs may indicate that your pet is nearing the end of his or her life. For instance, your pet may be in chronic pain, losing weight, or vomiting constantly. Your pet may no longer participate in activities, or perhaps he is not able to walk or stand on his own.

In-Office Euthanasia

If you choose to euthanize your pet, we will do what we can to make sure the experience is peaceful and gentle for both you and your pet. We will work with you to ensure that your pet is comfortable throughout the process.

You'll also have the opportunity to hold your pet in its final moments after you say goodbye. You can be present with your pet the entire time. The process is peaceful and involves the use of a sedative before the final injection. After your pet passes, you can choose to bury your pet at home or to have your pet cremated.
